Woman smiling with plants

About the Owner:

Hi. I’m Tonya Thethi, owner of Fern and I’m so excited you’re here! Fern became a small business in February of 2024. After 17 years in the interior design industry, I quit my 9-5. I loved design but my love for plants and all things green was taking over. I dreamt of owning a plant shop with a space to teach and create with my community. I found myself propagating and replanting with every free second I had. The more I propagated, the more I learned, and the more I learned, the more I realized how important plants are and how happy they make me. I wanted to share my love for plants with everyone. With the support of my husband, Savi and my family, I created Fern. For years, I would doodle in my sketchbook names for my business. I had so many names but when it was finally time, I choose Fern, for two reasons. One, my Mom always had a Boston Fern beside our front door when I was growing up. It was always so beautiful and welcoming (just like her) and it represented home for me. Two, Ferns are amongst the oldest organisms on the planet and are one of the most adaptive and fascinating plants on Earth. I am still learning about them. For now, Fern is a Pop-up Plant shop but one day, soon, I hope to open a brick & mortar shop where all of you can come and sit and breathe in all the good plant oxygen. A place where you won’t want to leave, a green oasis that will feel like home with Boston Ferns by the front door.

I hope to see you there ~Tonya

Our Mission

Plant Therapy
At Fern, we embrace plants as a central element of our lifestyle. Beyond just being a hobby or decorative feature, integrating plants into daily life has become a deliberate choice.

The act of tending to plants, observing their growth, and being attuned to their needs fosters a deeper connection with nature and our environment.

As our plants grow, so do we.

Our mission is to inspire you to create beautiful, thriving spaces through everything green. Replant. Recycle. Revive.

All Good Things Green.
